Motorola EVX-S30 Digital Portable Radio with USB-C Charging
The Motorola EVX-S30 is a compact digital and analogue two-way radio that replaces the EVX-S24. It has an updated design, louder audio and USB-C charging, and works with existing EVX-S24 accessories and chargers. It suits hospitality, education, retail, warehousing and facilities teams.
USB-C and Desktop Charging
The EVX-S30 can be charged three ways:
- USB-C: charge the radio directly from a USB-C power supply.
- Single-unit charger (SUC): desktop charger for one radio.
- Multi-unit charger (MUC): charges several radios at once.
The SUC and MUC are the same chargers used with the EVX-S24.
EVX-S30 Works with EVX-S24 Accessories
The EVX-S30 is the same size as the EVX-S24 and uses the same batteries, antennas, audio accessories and desktop chargers. As a result, there is no need to replace accessories when upgrading. EVX-S24 programming can also be exported and loaded into the EVX-S30, so existing channel and radio settings can be carried across.
Louder Audio
The EVX-S30 has 1.5 W rated audio (2 W maximum) and is louder than the EVX-S24, with more high-frequency output to help speech cut through background noise. The AMBE+2 vocoder gives clear digital voice.
Updated Design
- Larger power/volume knob for better grip
- Redesigned PTT button
- 4 programmable buttons (3 front, 1 side)
- 8-character alphanumeric display
- 215 g with battery, antenna and belt clip
- 91 x 55 x 31.5 mm
IP67 and MIL-STD 810
The EVX-S30 is IP67 rated for dust and water, including submersion for up to 30 minutes. It is tested to MIL-STD 810 and operates from -30 °C to +60 °C.
Battery Life
Up to 12 hours in digital mode (3 W) and up to 11 hours in analogue mode (2 W), based on a 5/5/90 duty cycle.
256 Channels and 16 Zones
The EVX-S30 holds up to 256 channels, which can be grouped into up to 16 zones. For example, private business channels can be kept in one zone and UHF CB channels in another.
Lone Worker and Emergency Alert
Lone Worker Alert raises an alarm if a user does not respond within a set time. Emergency Alert sends an emergency signal at the press of a button.
Conventional DMR Tier 2 and Analogue
The EVX-S30 is a conventional DMR Tier 2 radio that is MOTOTRBO compatible and also operates in analogue mode, so it can be used with existing analogue radios while moving to digital.
- Direct Mode: two voice paths on one frequency without a repeater
- Site Search: automatically moves to the repeater site with the strongest signal
- Private, Group and All Call
- Text messaging
- Transmit Interrupt (decode only)
UHF CB Ready
The EVX-S30 is type approved for the Australian UHF CB band. When purchased online, it comes loaded with all 80 UHF CB channels, and it can also be programmed with licensed business frequencies.
